What’s In a Name?
Fred and Mona Afshar named the consulting business after the Caspian Sea. As a child growing up in Iran, Fred enjoyed spending time at the Caspian Sea while his father ran a tea factory in a nearby coastal town. He has cherished memories of the Caspian – the Earth’s largest inland body on Earth–and he still relishes the memory of tasting its renowned Sturgeon caviar, the world’s best. But by age 22, he left his native country for the United States where he had to earn money, learn a new language, and go to college all at the same time. His grit and courage eventually led to many business achievements, the latest being the Caspian Group.
According to the Afshars, the Caspian Consulting Group’s success is due to its emphasis on integrity and transparency.
